For the Love of Gaming Podcast Episode 186: PS4 Pro and Skype Mishaps

The holiday season is almost here, but before that crazy story of games hit, it’s time to talk about all the betas for those games. Cory and Basher played the Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 Tech Tests, and both seemed to underwhelm them quite a bit, Steam World Heist has been sitting on Basher’s computer for quite awhile, but he finally got around to experiencing its’ greatness. Chris is still playing Tokyo Mirage Sessions on the Wii U, and embraces his inner Anime singing self. Cory picked up Hitman, and is blown away how much the episodic nature of the game ended up being possibly the best part. Its the summer, which means video game releases are few and far between. Pokemon Go has set the world on fire, and Basher talks about how it got his friends to interact with real people. Cory picked up Star Fox Zero on the Wii U, and explains how it is flawed but still a decent game. Chris explored his inner JRPG, and picked up Tokyo Mirage Sessions on the Wii U. As always with every gaming podcast on the planet these days, a discussion breaks out about Overwatch. Since the 4LOG crew are failures and didn’t record a podcast after E3 2016, the crew talks about the one game that impressed them the most at the show. Next Gen/Half Step Gen/Upgraded Gen is coming, and there is a basic view of what the Nintendo NX, Xbox Scorpio, and Playstation Neo appear to be. We missed a month, and boy did we pick the wrong time to do that. It’s Game Time in the gaming world! Cory played through Quantum Break and explains how that Its’ definitely a Remedy game. Chris finished his first Souls title with Dark Souls 3, and the usual 4LOG Dark Souls conversation pops up. Basher talks about Naughty Dog’s latest entry into the Uncharted series with Uncharted 4. Once again, Naughty Dog has knocked it out of the park. Cory finally got his wish with the release of Doom. Basher and Cory agree that Doom is the best FPS to come along in easily the past decade, maybe even longer. The entire crew played Blizzards new FPS, Overwatch. A few games released in March, but the one the entire 4LOG crew played is Tom Clancy’s: The Division. The crew is some what divided on how they feel about The Division, but a good debate breaks out on what makes the game either good or bad. Cory played the Doom Beta, and discusses some of the game modes and what he likes about this upcoming shooter. PlayStation 4K is rumored, almost confirmed at this point, and the 4LOG crew discusses the potential  that a mid generation refresh has on the market. A topic breaks out about what Microsoft does if Sony releases the PlayStation 4k. This months episode features some big games, and some big news on the Nintendo NX front. Basher picked up Street Fighter V on the PS4, and explains how the core is great but everything else is not good. Chris picked up Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest on the 3DS, it’s more Fire Emblem which is a good thing. Cory has been playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princes HD on the Wii U, and explains why its still his favorite Zelda. Microsoft is bringing franchises like Forza, and Quantum Break to the PC. The internet is mad for some reason. Randy Pitchford once again tries to defend Aliens: Colonial Marines. Nintendo NX rumors once again surface, this time featuring a wireless HDMI dongle and Bluetooth capabilities. Some emails roll in asking the 4LOG crew about if we will see the Playstation 5 and Xbox 4 sooner than expected.
